Love the pic, and best of luck with the book signings.

I'm not surprised you received such a glowing review. I'm a few chapters in and loving it.

Thanks, Debs

Hello, Leigh! I'm just getting settled in again, but wanted to stop by and say congratulations. Now I just have to catch up to what you're doing and where!!

Very nice review. Amazon still says it is for pre-order but I went ahead and put in my order. I'll be looking forward to getting it.

Hey Rick, great to hear from you again. In brief, my book's published, available on amazon.co.uk now and July or August (sorry - can't remember) on amazon.com.

I am a published author!

Thanks for stopping by.

Thank you, Charles. I'm looking forward to hearing your comments. Thank you for visiting.

Hope everything's OK with you, Tom Foolery. Thank you for your support. I'm off to your blog now to see what's going on with you.

Congratulations, you have lift off!
Blessings, Star

I might just make it to Watford on Saturday.

Leigh, and to think some months ago you worried needlessly.

Great start and i look forward to getting my hands on a copy now that i'm back in the UK:-)

Leigh Russell said...

Star - it would be great to see you. Please do come along and introduce yourself! I find there's something a little surreal about the idea of the virtual and the real world meeting... but exciting too. Thank you for your good wishes.

Leigh Russell said...

Hi Barbara - I have an envelope ready, addressed to you, but need to go to the post office to check I have the correct postage and won't be able to do that until I finish school - one more week to go. We have a long day at my school and I don't often get home before the post office closes. What a life! I haven't forgotten you!
As for worry - there's still Book 2 to finish, due out in 2010. I know it sounds a long way away, but there's tons to be done...

Hi Liz. Welcome back. Your garden looks wonderful! I can just imagine you sitting in a hammock, drinking pimms and, of course, reading Cut Short!

Now I will immediately recognize you in Bath.

Could you confirm the bookshop and times? I'll be coming by bus to Shaftsbury, from there a bus to Gillingham and from there the train to Salisbury and from there the train to Bath.

I told you MD is in the middle of the sticks with just a few buses per day, didn't I?

I'll be with my husband David who, by the way, is a renowned international poet.

Very good review.

That has made my day, Monique. How fantastic. I'm really touched that you're going to make that long trek to meet up. I'll be in Waterstones in Bath (Milsom Street Bath BA1 1DA) on 18th July from around 10.30 and will be there until 3 or 4 I expect - unless the books sell out sooner. I can't wait to meet you and your husband and thank you. It's only 3 weeks! I can't wait!

Leigh Russell said...

Hi Bernard - good to hear from you. Keep in touch.

All scribbled down. We should be there by twelve noon. I seem to remember that it was about that time when I went with my daughter to Cardiff for the open day at the university there when we got into Bath station.

Great!

Leigh Russell said...

Looking forward to seeing you, Monique!

Congratulations on the publication of your book! I have a local independent bookstore that orders books from the UK, so I will ask them to get a copy for me!
I am already looking forward to reading it!

Leigh Russell said...

Hi Tulsa and thanks for commenting. Please email me for a signature when your copy arrives. I hope you enjoy reading Cut Short, which is set in England. Keep in touch, new blogbuddy.

Lauren said...

That's a great pic! Congrats on the review :)

Leigh Russell said...

Thank you, Lauren. Not as glam as your photo, I'm afraid, but I do quite like mine, which is very unusual. I'm so unphotogenic it's ridiculous.
Nice to hear from you. I came over to thank you and ended up writing a long comment on your blog.

What a fabulous review! And I love the photo - how fun!

Leigh Russell said...

Thank you, Casey. And thank you for visiting my blog. Please come again.

way to go, leigh :)

Leigh Russell said...

I haven't forgotten your copy, laughing wolf, but I need to go to the post office to make sure I put the right postage on the envelope and won't have time to do that until next week. It's on my list! In the meantime, I don't get home from work until after the post office closes and had to go into school on Saturday for Speech Day. It's a busy life... Your copy will be in the post next week. I hope you enjoy it!
Good to hear from you.

Guess what I've just ordered from amazon?...yep...Cut Short! I'll let you know what I think of it when I've read it, and I'll do a review on my blog. xx

Leigh Russell said...

Thank you, Akasha. That's really exciting! I do hope you enjoy Cut Short. If you like it, I wonder if you'd be kind enough to consider copying your review, or an extract, onto amazon. Apparently it helps. I'm on my way to visit your blog now.

Good luck I have mine now will be reading very soon.

fizzycat said...

Brill photo too!

Leigh Russell said...

That's great, fizzycat. I hope you enjoy it.

I can't believe people are actually reading my book. It's a surreal and wildly exciting experience. It's also just a tiny bit terrifying... No, no, no. I'm perfectly calm and detached about this whole experience. Nervous? Me? Ha! What is there to feel nervous about? (Leigh totters away on knees that are knocking together audibly)

Thank you for my signing and forgive my being slow in reading 'Cut Short'
So much is happening here that every time I sit and read my mind goes racing off.
I re-read the first chapters last night and am looking forward to the rest.
