Sales of Cut Short go intergalactic

My last post was rather sad so I thought I'd be more cheerful today and share some exciting news with you - sales of CUT SHORT have gone intergalactic! If you don't believe me, here's the photographic proof:
A dalek buying Cut Short from Leigh Russell and paying cash!
And here comes a jedi. He also bought Cut Short . . .

Spiderman wanted to buy a copy but he has no pockets so didn't have any money.
This pirate, on the other hand, had plenty of loot - and a parrot!

It was lovely to meet fellow members of the authors' group Mystery Women. I'm looking forward to signing with you all again.
Back on planet earth . . . I'm signing at
Waterstones HARROW Saturday,
Waterstones ST ALBANS Sunday.
Please come along and say hello if you're in the area!

You're right, Leigh. This was a much cheerier post (and funny, too). So what's with Borders again?

Leigh Russell said...

Hi Rick - yes it was great fun, visiting other galaxies . . .
The latest news is that Borders is closing all its stores in the UK. This means they are selling off stock at knock down prices, affecting sales in other bookstores in the run up to Christmas. Bookstores in the UK are all on the brink . . . It's seriously bad news.

I'm glad you are having fun to leaven the hard work. I know how exhausting it is to be 'on' all the time in public.

I haven't commented here in ages, but I'm so glad to hear that your book sales are doing so well. (Not in small part due to your excellent writing.)

Hi Pat - it is hard work, but such fun! The only trouble is, I have so little time to visit other blogs. I miss that and will catch up soon.

Aw thanks, writtenwyrdd. That's very kind of you - and lovely to hear from you again. I will come over to your blog again soon to see how it's all going.

That was fun and much more optimistic

Hi Monique - trouble is, I've been so busy I haven't even had time to visit my favourite blogs . . . and that includes MD! I plan to go visiting tonight if I can as I miss catching up with everyone.

Good luck there. I work on Dr Who so I know the Daleks can be a bit of a pain.

All the best with your signings and sales. I hope it all goes well.

Hi Anne - what fun working on Dr Who - or is it just hard work? I have to say, my dalek was very nice. He was really friendly. Even so, I couldn't put my hand inside the dalek to hand him his change - childhood fears run deep. I knew it was a plastic (?) shell with a man inside, but it was like touching a hairy spider with bare hands. I couldn't do it! I had to give the change to his 'minder'. It was surreal. I was so scared of daleks as a child! We all were.

Spidey never has any money. Those Daleks are everywhere. Where is the Doctor when you need him?

Where indeed, Michael!
