Waterstones

Cut Short, Road Closed and Dead End at Waterstones in Guildford where I signed 76 books today. Who says we don't love our bookshops?

That's good news, and congratulations. Today I just learned that L'Échange, a second hand bookstore where I used to go very often when I lived in Montreal, was back in 1972 the setting of a particularly violent murder. I thought about you.

Fantastic to see all three books on the shelf together and displayed so prominently. Love it!

I am not very far in the chapter, but basically the key witness in the murder if an anti-maffia politician and social activist in Sicily got murdered years later in Montreal, stabbed to death in his own restaurant, which is now a bookstore.

It sounds exciting, Guillaume.

It is. I might write something about it one day. Or feel free to use it yourself. If you make a book out of it, you owe me a beer (a dedication is not necessary).

So that's one undedicated beer...
