THE CURZON AIRPORT TOUR.
We signed at a civilised time at Manchester Airport on Friday (midday start) - no photographers turned up. Here we are at East Midlands Airport (5am start) - and yes, a very nice photographer turned up to record the bags under my eyes for posterity . . . It's the best picture I've got, so I swallowed my vanity (not much to swallow) to share this with you. Also in the picture you can see, from left to right, author Richard Jay Parker, the manager of WH Smith's East Midlands Airport, me and author Matt Lynn (who is clearly a morning person.)
It sounds a little more glamorous on the East Midlands Airport website
http://www.eastmidlandsairport.com/emaweb.nsf/Content/BookSigning but you know the truth behind the real bags I carried with me to the airport . . .
I probably told you that my publisher is currently reprinting as Cut Short has been selling so fast! Thank you very much to all of you who have bought it and helped to create this fantastic success. If you'd like a copy - or even another one for a friend - order now for the first edition (!) and remember to email me on leighrussell2009@live.co.uk for a personal inscription and scanned signature.

I think you all look positively chirpy for so early in the morning.
So thrilled for you that Cut Short is being reprinted.
Me? Chirpy first thing in the morning? Honestly, Debs, I was just about waking up when we finished at about 10. If you click on the photo to enlarge it (but please don't) you'll see what I mean...
The reprint is very exciting. You now officially own a first . . . batch? (is it a first edition? sounds very grand)
Hi Leigh - I just finished reading it, and I loved it. Will try and write a review. Really looking forward to the next one.
Hi Dabrah - a review would be great, thank you, but the best news is that you enjoyed it. I'm so glad! Thank you very much for letting me know. I'll be over to your blog if I can but am on the train at the moment and my dongle isn't very reliable.
Well done on Cut Short's continuing success. And, hey, the photo's not that bad! x
Hi Akasha - thank you and your're right, it's not bad at all really. Thankfully Heathrow T5 this Friday is a 10.30 meet up so I should be awake for that one!
Much better than how I would look at that hour.Popped over to the new site and commented on e- readers and managed to keep the comments printable.Drop a book it won't mind, drop it in the bath it's soaked but ok. Do the same with an e-reader...
You're so right, fizzycat. Ditch the e-readers. Books win.
Great news on the sales front! Your picture turned out very well. :)
Thanks, Bernard. Yes, so far so good, it's going really well. I'm afraid I'm turning into an adrenaline junkie . . . I'm keeping posters from bookshops, and saving the internet promotions, so when (dare I say if?) the rollercoaster ride comes to an end, I'll have them to look back on. My glory days as an author!
Now I really MUST get down to Book 2 - due at the publisher at the end of the month . . .
lol... no worries, leigh
and grats on your success!
Thanks, laughing wolf
