Sounds like a good read, left me wanting to hear more. I think you are so brave to record that, I hate the sound of my own voice when it's played back - I don't realise how strong my (geordie) accent is until then.
Who is Ocean Girl and why is she leaving a message for Rick on Charles' blog? Is there a story in all this? - or am I just being nosey? Perhaps Rick should try leaving a message in a bottle for her . . .
I used to give loads of readings when still doing poetry (before turning my hands to scripts) and I had to learn to read slow. It's not easy because in the mind it feels wrong but it is right.
I'm (a little red faced) about half way through cut short.
I've read aloud for years - to my dyslexic daughter, and endless classes at school. I enjoy it - but it's quite different reading your own work out, isn't it?
I'm amazed you have time to read at all, with all that you do! I hope you're enjoying the book. I think it speeds up as it goes along.
Thanks, Dabrah. It was fun making the video clip. We only did it for a laugh but it turned out surprsingly well, when I managed to read without laughing (and without my family making faces behind me) so we decided to put it 'out there' on the internet.
Oh Leigh, Leigh - I haven't been around for ages - work, illness and all that... just read your entry on my blog and sooooooo excited, your book is out! Put an order an Amazon straight away, should be with me next few days! Cant wait!!!
I love your video! Have you done any stage acting, your voice is perfect for the stage! :) I have just bought your book on Amazon, cant wait for it to arrive! :) And when are you doing your signing, its in October isnt it? What day is it?
Hi meigui, thanks for visiting. I haven't been able to comment on your blog but will be in touch. Never acted - not since school (!) Thank you for your kind comment. I hope you enjoy Cut Short. Let me know what you think.
Its actually Rose from the "college years blog", but i added another email ad and changed my blogger name! really sorry about the confusion! I hope to get your book soon, your reading of it made me want to find out more :) Are you writing any other novels at the moment? I also checked your tour dates, and Gower street is very close to where i live! I look forward to it! :)
Now I'm totally confused, meigui, but no worries, it's my usual state of mind. I hope to see you in Waterstones in Gower Street, and please pass the link to my reading to everyone you know! Keep in touch.
I came to know about your book from Aggie's blog, and am really looking forward to reading it soon after this reading :) All the best for all your forthcoming books!
Hi there, Canary.I'm delighted to hear from you. It's amazing and wonderful that you (in India) came across my name on Aggie's blog (in New Zealand) where she was discussing Cut Short with Laughing Wolf (in Canada) and Monique (in England). We really are a global community.
Thanks for your comment on Blogland Lane Leigh...! Was just looking around a bit here, sounds like you are amazingly busy; how on earth do you find time to blog as well ?!? Good luck with all the book promotion events, must be a challenge to promote the published work while still making progress on future work in the pipeline, and blogging to boot... bravo !
Hi Owen, nice of you to visit here. Yes, I like to keep busy. I think that's one of the things that I enjoy about writing. There's always something to think about - why does a character behave in a certain way, how was the murder committed, etc. I'm never bored.

Thanks for the compliment, Rick.

I was very pleased with it, PI. You can't see or hear me too clearly! As for brave - it was just a bit of fun.
Cool. I enjoyed that. Great to see you and hear you.
Rick, btw, Ocean Girl left a message for you on my blog post. Don't ask me why. It's not on my latest post, but on the one prior to that.

Hi Leigh - Just read the story synopsis at Amazon. Intriguing. I'm visiting Border's this weekend. If it's not there, Amazon get the business.
Annie from the Lighthouse at Blogland Lane.
Thank you, Annie. Please visit again soon. See you on Blogland Lane - maybe share a margarita looking out over the ocean?
Love Shirley Valentine.
Yeah, the tub was pretty crowded. Yikes.
My email is listed at my site too if you ever want to write directly.
