I would appreciate your comments on the cover design of my book .

I tried to copy the design here but, as with most of my forays into IT, I failed miserably. I can only invite you to visit my publisher's website, www.noexit.co.uk where you will find details of my book, Cut Short. Alternatively, a search for Cut Short Leigh Russell takes you there.

Hi Leigh
Thanks for popping by my blog. I love it when people leave a comment but beware blogging is dangerously addictive!
How exciting to be called seriously creepy - you must be thrilled!
It must be so exciting to be on your way to being a published writer. I really admire people who can write fiction as I seem to lack any sort of imagination in that department. Give me a boring annual report to write and I'm fine - although an element of fiction often creeps in :)

Hi Leigh, thanks for the comment on my blog. I've just looked at the book cover and it is impressive - particularly the script in the background. I'm not a crime-thriller reader but I hope you do really well. Lucy x

Hi Leigh - thanks for the comment on my blog.

The cover's fab. I like mono covers for thrillers - and that scarlet teardrop really gives it an extra edge. Then, in close up, the script definitely grabs interest.

Bet you can't wait until April! (Tip for me: get someone to take a picture of it on the shelves, preferably with you next to it. And savour that moment because you earned it!)

all the best
Kate

Oh, and some tecchy advice - go to the pic of your blog on your publisher's site, right-click on it, and choose the 'save as' option. Call it whatever you like (eg Cut Short Cover), and save it as a jpg file to your computer.

Then, when you're creating a post in Blogger, you should see a little icon of a picture next to the 'tick ABC' icon on the bar above the box where you type. Click on that, and another box comes up. Click on the 'Browse' button and it will take you to the file manager on your computer. Click on the file name of the picture you saved, then click 'open' and the file will be listed in the box next to 'browse'. Click 'upload image' and a screen will tell you the picture is loading, then click 'done' and the picture will appear in your blog post.

Hope this helps (and sorry if I sound bossy!) :o)

Oh Leigh! I love the cover. The title's really messy, no clean cut lines about it (maybe like the killer's mind, good bits missing from his life perhaps) and you can see what I presume is the killer in the girl's eye. She looks as though she's resigned to her fate. You feel quite sorry for her. I like the drop of red blood against all the black. Really dark and very fitting I should think! This is a very good cover.

I see you've figured out the problem. Sorry I didn't get back to you sooner, I don't check the old blog but rarely now.

Glad you left a comment on my blog yesterday, Leigh--and congrats on the new book. I think your cover is right on--it's simple yet dramatic, and gives me the shivers. Not my genre, but sure to do well in today's market. Good luck to you! And keep writing.

Well Leigh, all these comments show signs of someone using avoidance tactics when they should be marking exam papers - LOL!!

Hi Leigh
Yes, they are my drawings done on computer at Sketchfu.com. I have recently rekindled my love of drawing and have become quite adicted. Which answers the other question about how I spend my time now I'm retired!
I'm new to this blogging too so I'm not sure if this is the right place for me to answer but I hope you'll get it somehow.
Thanks for visiting my blog - you are my first 'real' visitor! I'm going to try to add a link to your blog so I can keep up with your adventures - Good Luck
